    Looking at Airman Leadership School’s Class 20A at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, one would see many bright-eyed faces. Uniforms are crisp and serviceable. Personal appearance is sharp and presentable. They’re displaying themselves as the new front-line supervisors they are soon to become, once they’ve broken into the NCO tier. But one man in attendance stands out from the rest. He has a uniform complete with a nametape and chevrons on his sleeve, but the left side of his chest reads: Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Doggone bombs: Team MacDill integrates joint force counter-IED training

    The 6th CES/EOD flight held an integrated training with 6th SFS military working dog teams, aeromedical technicians with the 927th Aeromedical Staging Squadron and veterinary technicians with the U.S. Army Public Health Activity, Fort Gordon, MacDill branch, from Dec. 9 to 13, at MacDill Air Force Base, and Avon Park Air Force Range, Florida.

Austin Brill, 19th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron aircraft hydraulics craftsman, took on the responsibility of bringing about subtle changes in the squadron that not only boosted individual morale for the Airmen on his shift, but brought them together as a unit and enhanced overall camaraderie.
  • Herk Heritage: C-130 Vietnam rescue linked to 19th AMXS Airman

    The Vietnam War neared its end when North Vietnamese forces destroyed nearly 100 aircraft on the flight line at Tan Son Nhut Air Base, Vietnam, on April 29, 1975. Only one flyable aircraft remained: A C-130A Hercules with the tail number 56-0518.
