  • Association of Defense Communities visits TLR community

    Representatives from the Association of Defense Communities visited Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, on Feb. 25-26, 2020, in recognition for being one of five communities across the country named to the 2020 Class of Great American Defense Communities. The program, now in its fifth year, was established to recognize the role that communities and regions with active installations play in supporting service members and military families.

    Fourteen Mobility Airmen from the 6th Operations Group and 6th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron provided aerial refueling support to F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft from the 182nd Fighter Squadron, Kelly Field, Texas, Jan. 27-31, 2020.
  • All-black Fairchild aircrew refuel Red Tail Squadron, honor Black History

    An all African-American KC-135 crew from Fairchild Air Force Base undertook a mission to refuel historic Red Tail Squadron F-16 Fighting Falcons from the 187th Fighter Wing, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, Feb. 18, in honor of Black History Month.
  • Fairchild KC-135 supports aeromedical evacuation training at Travis

    Team Fairchild provided KC-135 Stratotanker support during aeromedical evacuation training for the 43rd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron at Travis Air Force Base, Feb. 10-11. Training consisted of familiarization of the KC-135 airframe for emergency evacuation procedures, simulated in-flight medical emergencies, aircraft emergency simulations and medical equipment for both Fairchild and Travis Airmen in order to qualify for semi-annual requirements.
  • AMC commander visits Team MacDill

    Gen. Maryanne Miller, Air Mobility Command commander, Maj. Gen. Sam Barrett, 18th Air Force commander and Chief Master Sgt. Terrence Greene, AMC command chief, visited Team MacDill Feb. 12-14 to witness first-hand how Airmen here deliver unmatched air refueling, installation and mission support.
  • 19th AW tackles first 4/12 capstone

    The 61st Airlift Squadron, along with Airmen from the 19th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 19th Operations Support Squadron and the 41st AS will integrate with units from Yokota, Kadena and Misawa Air Bases in Japan, and Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea for a full spectrum readiness operation in the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command’s area of responsibility during their 4/12 FSR Capstone Feb. 5-25, 2020. In 2019 the new 4/12 deployment initiative was coordinated among airlift squadrons from Dyess Air Force Base, Texas and Little Rock AFB, allowing each squadron to rotate on deployments for four months followed by 12 months of dwell time. While one squadron is fulfilling their rotational deployment, the other three will be focused on sharpening readiness, allowing more time to train for tomorrow’s fight.
  • Air Force Fiscal Year 2021 budget recommendations for Air Mobility Command

    Among the key features announced in the Air Force Fiscal Year 2021 Presidential Budget Request released today, Air Mobility Command is projected to face several recommended force structure adjustments to its aerial refueling and Total Force tactical airlift fleets.

  • AF tradition honored: 19th AMXS reinstates Dedicated Crew Chief program

    The 19th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron reinstated the Dedicated Crew Chief program Feb. 6, 2020, at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas. In a formal induction ceremony, a total of 28 DCCs and 26 Assistant DCCs were appointed to the position and assumed responsibility of their assigned aircraft.
