    Ask an Airman what they like doing on warm, summer mornings and more than likely, you won’t hear, “Get in my blues and stand at attention for two hours.” For members of the 60th Air Mobility Wing, though, that’s exactly what they did, but for good reason. They, among many Airmen around Travis Air Force Base, California, were given the opportunity to bid a final farewell to departing 60th AMW commander, Col. John Klein, as well as welcome his replacement, incoming 60th AMW commander, Col. Ethan Griffin, during a change of command ceremony July 10.

    Travis KC-10 takes Ospreys on alternate route across Atlantic

    A KC-10 Extender crew from Travis Air Force Base, California, took part March 10 in a first-of-its-kind mission to move six U.S. Marine Corps MV-22 Ospreys to Morón Air Base, Spain. The mission to move the MV-22s charted an alternative, transatlantic southern route as opposed to a northern passage used in previous efforts.

    USAF demonstrates capabilities in European theater

    RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany – The U.S. Air Force airlift provides the capability to deploy armed forces and assets anywhere in the world within hours.

    US, Hellenic air forces practice in-flight refueling

    A KC-135 Stratotanker, from the Arizona Air National Guard’s 161st Air Refueling Wing, joined F-16 Fighting Falcons from Aviano Air Base, Italy, and the Hellenic air force to perform in-flight refueling operations during a flying training deployment, Jan. 20 to Feb. 3, 2017, at Souda Bay, Greece.

    Air Mobility Command enables delivery of Israel’s first F-35s

    Air Mobility Command Airmen worked around the clock to ensure Israel’s first two F-35 aircraft were delivered Dec. 12, making the U.S. ally the only country in the Middle East flying a fifth generation fighter aircraft. The 618th Air Operations Center, based out of Scott AFB, Illinois, assigned the Tennessee Air National Guard’s 134th Air Refueling

    U.S. Air Force heavy airlift was called upon to support approximately 200 Soldiers, Airmen and Marines from Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Southern Command and Joint Task Force-Bravo who deployed this week with two CH-53E Super Stallion, three CH-47 Chinook, and two UH-60L and two HH-60L Black Hawk helicopters to provide heavy and medium lift to support the U.S. Agency for International Development-led mission to alleviate human suffering and bolster Haitian disaster response capabilities.
