    Airmen from the 6th Air Refueling Wing conducted an off-site integrated training with the 20th Fighter Wing at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina Nov. 29 to Dec. 5, 2020. Over the course of five days, Aircrews with the 91st Air Refueling Squadron, maintainers with the 6th Maintenance Group and Airmen with the 6th Operations Support Squadron teamed with Airmen assigned to Shaw AFB in order to bolster each unit’s full-spectrum readiness capabilities.

  • MacDill’s Short Fitness Center reopens for active duty, Guard and Reserve

    The doors of MacDill’s Short Fitness Center reopened on Aug. 19 to active duty, Guard and Reserve personnel after five months due to COVID-19. Under MacDill’s “Keep it Safe, Keep it Open” campaign, Airmen from the 6th Force Support Squadron sterilized the fitness center facility so service members could have a safe space to conduct their physical workouts and maintain their warfighting readiness.

All you can think about is being able to go inside and feel a cool breeze from the air conditioning unit in your car and house; imagine if you did not have to go inside to stay cool. Aiming to allow military members to work hard in a more comfortable environment, the Personal Cooling System (PCS) provided by Florida-based RINI Technologies keeps Airmen at a cool 72-degrees while being compact enough to wear beneath protective gear and clothing.

  • Team MacDill salutes Tampa Bay’s front-line heroes

    Everyday KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft lift off from the flight line at MacDill, take to the skies and carry out training sorties and refueling missions along the gulf and the southeast region. However, on Friday, May 15, the flight path of two of MacDill’s refueling aircraft will look completely different as MacDill plans to salute local health care heroes with a fly over of the Tampa Bay area.
