    The 19th Operations Group from Little Rock Air Force Base acted as the lead AF unit in Panther Storm, a deployment readiness exercise (DRE) supporting the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Jan. 31 – Feb. 2, at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina. Shortly after receiving the support request, six C-130J Super Hercules, nine C-17 Globemaster IIIs, and a Brazilian KC-390 conducted 18 heavy equipment drops and airdropped approximately 650 paratroopers at the Joint Readiness Training Center in Fort Polk, Louisiana.

  • 19th AW tackles first 4/12 capstone

    The 61st Airlift Squadron, along with Airmen from the 19th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 19th Operations Support Squadron and the 41st AS will integrate with units from Yokota, Kadena and Misawa Air Bases in Japan, and Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea for a full spectrum readiness operation in the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command’s area of responsibility during their 4/12 FSR Capstone Feb. 5-25, 2020. In 2019 the new 4/12 deployment initiative was coordinated among airlift squadrons from Dyess Air Force Base, Texas and Little Rock AFB, allowing each squadron to rotate on deployments for four months followed by 12 months of dwell time. While one squadron is fulfilling their rotational deployment, the other three will be focused on sharpening readiness, allowing more time to train for tomorrow’s fight.

    The 19th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron reinstated the Dedicated Crew Chief program Feb. 6, 2020, at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas. In a formal induction ceremony, a total of 28 DCCs and 26 Assistant DCCs were appointed to the position and assumed responsibility of their assigned aircraft.
  • Army’s JRTC kicks off GFLR 20-03

    Personnel from the 34th Combat Training Squadron and the U.S. Army collaborated with coalition forces from Canada during the joint forcible entry and airborne assault to kick off exercise Green Flag Little Rock 20-03 Jan. 11-21, 2020, at the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, Louisiana and Alexandria, Louisiana. GFLR 20-03 was held in conjunction with exercise JRTC 20-3 in Fort Polk, the Army’s final certification event before they are deemed ready to deploy or assume a ready force posture.
