Trident Juncture 2015
Opening Ceremony of Exercise Trident Juncture at Trapani Air Base, Italy. Rising of the Trident Juncture 2015 flag. More than 5,000 U.S. service members will participate in NATO’s Trident Juncture 2015 exercise conducted in Spain, Portugal and Italy, Belgium, Canada, Germany, The Netherlands, Norway and at sea, in the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. Trident Juncture is the largest NATO LIVEX to be conducted in the past 20 years, and serves as an annual NATO Response Force (NRF) certification exercise for 2016. The U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps and Special Operations personnel supporting the exercise will arrive from European and CONUS locations, to include some Army and Air National Guard assets. Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR), will be certified during this exercise and assume the role as the Special Operations Component Command for the NRF in 2016. Exercise Trident Juncture runs until Nov. 6, 2015.
