18th Air Force Honored
Rob Sutton (right), Chairman of the St. Louis Section of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, presents Col. Quntin Hartt, 18th Air Force Director of Operations with the Section's "Lindbergh Award". The award recognizes distinguished contributions in applying aerospace technology to improving the quality of human life. The AIAA presented the award to 18th Air Force for its support of relief efforts following the 2010 Haiti earthquake, the 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami, and its support of the No Fly Zone over Libya as part of Operations Odyssey Dawn and Unified Protector. The 18th Air Force is the Air Force's largest Numbered Air Force and is the air component to U.S. Transportation Command, providing global reach through a worldwide mobility enterprise.
