SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- Major General Corey J. Martin, 18th Air Force commander, took a tour of Scott Air Force Base during the 375th Air Mobility Wing’s second monthly Wing Readiness Day, Feb. 22, 2024.
The tour started with a presentation from Col. John Poole, 375th AMW commander, about the history of Scott AFB and how it operates today, followed by the coining of some of its outstanding flagship Airmen. During the tour, Gen. Martin visited many different sections of the base to learn about different squadrons and their functions.
The 375th Civil Engineer Squadron demonstrated a CES Rehearsal of Concept drill, followed by Detachment X flying their small Unmanned Aircraft System flying in different simulated scenarios. At the Warrior Airman Readiness course area, Gen. Martin participated in Tactical Combat Casualty Care training, practicing how to properly place a tourniquet on one of the 375th Medical Group’s bleeding manikins.
This was followed by a visit to the 375th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron where Gen. Martin learned about the Theater Aeromedical Evacuation System. The tour concluded with Gen. Martin kicking off a three mile ruck, where he was able to speak with Team Scott’s Airmen, learning how they practice readiness.
