A Commander's Pledge

SCOTT AFB, Ill -- Fellow Mobility Leaders and Teammates,

Let me begin by thanking you for the outstanding work you do every day in support of our critical global mission, our military, and our Nation. It has been and continues to be an incredible privilege to lead America's finest men and women.

As some of you may have heard, I have been nominated by the President to lead Air Mobility Command. While this represents our senior leader's trust and confidence ... and is truly appreciated ... what I appreciate and value even more is the trust each of you place in me every day as the Eighteenth Air Force Commander. Over the last decade, Eighteenth Air Force has grown from its modest beginnings into the operational heart of the global air mobility enterprise. It has been my privilege to be a part of that change ... and a part of our winning team.

Whatever the coming weeks and months bring, you can be certain my focus remains the same: leading and enabling success of the roles and responsibilities Gen Selva has delegated to our operational warfighting headquarters, and caring for those who make it happen every day ... our Airmen and their families!

We live in challenging times for our military and Nation, and I expect they will only become more so in the coming days and months. However, my pledge is to be right beside you as we face them - and overcome them - together.

As always, thank you for your continued service and dedication to our fellow Airmen, our command, and the world's finest Air Force! Evelyn and I are Blessed to be your teammates.
